A solo exhibition by Mick Rictor of the Spinifex Arts Project. After a successful inaugural exhibition in Darwin last year hosted by the Salon Art Projects this is Rictor's second exhibition. Mick's paintings are raw and powerful, they are documents of knowledge essential for life in the Spinifex country he walked in from in 1986. An exhibition of fibre works by Margaret Rarru and Helen Ganalmirriwuy of Milingimbi. Most of the works in the exhibition are dyed black. Margaret Rarru discovered the recipe of making black dye from local plants. Yolgnu weavers respect Rarru as the owner of 'mol' (black) and ask permission to use it, though the completely black works are reserved for Rarru. This exhibition features contemporary objects of woven pandanus informed by ancestral origins.

Paper Trails is a premier exhibition born from a collaboration between Bindi’s three departments: the Contracts room, Workshop and the Bindi Mwerre Anthurre Artists. The sculptures, works on paper and boards in the exhibition deal with running Central Australian themes such as landscapes, portraits and motorcars. Bold and playful, the paper pulp sculptures are fabricated by upcycling shredded documents that are residue from Bindi’s Confidential Shredding business that takes place in the Contracts room.
