Proudly sponsored by the Northern Territory Government, through the Community Benefit Fund, Red Hot Arts was able to secure funding for a new sprung floor in our Studio Rehearsal Room at 67 Bath Street. The completion of these works has also transformed the space into a fully functional black box theatre. This is wonderful news for not only our dance and theatre community and current regular users of the space, but our community as a whole through attendance at classes and productions within the space. The works have now been completed and the space will reopen once both the COVID-19 restrictions have relaxed and when Red Hot Arts deems it appropriate under the circumstances.

The new floor garnered support from a range of local businesses, dance organisations and independent dancers. The lack of an accessible sprung floor in Mparntwe/Alice Springs saw choreography being altered and shortened to avoid injury, and the need for protective equipment to be worn at times. This new floor will mean that the dance and theatre community will be able to practice in a safer and more conducive to creativity space. The benefits of such will be passed onto the wider community through the expression of such artistic expression.
