Founded in 1999, Red Hot Arts’ purpose was to develop the arts and cultural events sector. Initially through promotion of events and then in 2005 by offering services to incubate and capacity build other arts organisations, and in 2009 the merger intended to go even further.
For Central Australia to be a destination for arts and cultural events it needs to be viable year round. Venues need audience development to build their confidence to pay for shows, crews need reliable work, suppliers the security to invest and artists need a season of audiences.
16 years of planning and delivering arts and cultural events across art forms has created a legacy of tools focused on the needs of the sector. To further improve sector professionalism Red Hot Arts is investing locally in legal and insurance services to benefit of our members.
Red Hot Arts works with local production businesses, offering multi-year contracts to boost investment confidence while working with them to create a local production cluster that can win tenders and deliver major events. Keeping money and jobs local.
Red Hot Arts will work with local venues to increase attendance numbers with active promotion and regular shows. Development of venue functionality and accessibility for arts and cultural events is an objective of this effort to develop the sector.
In 2018, Red Hot Arts will start reaching out locally, regionally and intrastate to help lay the foundations of a network, schedule and service to provide commercial opportunities and new audiences for NT artists and producers.
Our initial efforts are focused on developing relationships in the local region that will make it more viable for interstate and intrastate artists to perform in Alice Springs.
