One of Alice Springs’ most iconic heritage buildings, The Residency was built in the late 1920’s to house the Government Resident of Central Australia during a brief period of legislative independence.

Today, the building is managed by Heritage Alice Springs in partnership with The Araluen Cultural Precinct and is open to the public weekdays (10am – 3pm) and on Todd Mall Market Sundays (10am – 2pm). At other times, The Residency may be hired for suitable events and functions.

Across four fortnightly sessions, Sue Fielding will guide participants through the 6 ‘rules’ of writing practice developed by US writing teacher and author, Natalie Goldberg (ref. Writing down the Bones and Wild mind- Living the Writers Life). In a supportive and positive environment, participants will practice the ‘rules’ through a series of timed writing exercises.
