The Alice Springs World Chamber Orchestra is journeying Mparntwe – with Arrernte woman Casii Williams welcoming to Country through song at sunrise 7.30am @ Emily Gap. Like painted dots, musical performances will cover Alice Springs throughout the day, culminating in an evening concert at Witchetty’s with works for Didgeridoo, clapsticks, Euphonium and Flute.  Alice Springs students will accompany performances of works by DW Solomons, Penguin Café Orchestra, Philip Glass and Elena Kats-Chernin.   Due to the exodus in Afghanistan the…

The A.S.Q.C are hold­ing the 2021 exhi­bi­tion in Witch­et­ty's, at Aralu­en Arts Cen­tre, which runs for eight days only. This years ​‘club’ exhi­bi­tion dis­plays the work of Alice Springs quil­ters and as well as bed quilts includes bags, a ​‘chal­lenge’, mys­tery quilts and an art quilt sec­tion. The Friends of Araluen present: The Bungalow Alice Springs, 1914 – 1929. A presentation by Linda Wells about her doctoral research into the first Bungalow in Alice Springs and the choices she has made in writing it up as a work of creative non-fiction. The Friends of Araluen present: Scotty, Dave, Ross and Barry, all from different points on the globe and all with a story to tell. In the confluence, the meeting point that is Alice Springs, they came together through music. Bloodwood was the centrepiece of the folk scene in Central Australia in the 80s and 90s and has expressed stories of life over decades in the true spirit of folk music.
